Putting Today's 13 Month High Into Perspective

Today the Dow closed at a 13 month high which definitely shows that the US economy is recovering from the financial meltdown last year. While today's high is nothing insignificant, if you take a look back at the charts, the Dow was in the middle of a free fall 13 months ago.



The financial meltdown was in full effect and stocks were plummeting. If you look back 14 months, you'll see that the Dow was comfortably above the 11k mark. In other words, between 14 and 13 months ago, the Dow saw its value drop over 2000 points.
