Switched to TradeKing from ETrade about 6 months ago. First impression was that the ACH process took a bit longer than I would have liked but once it was done, everything has been great since. I'm saving money on trades and I have learned to trade options by attending their free webinars and interacting in their online community. They launched a new back-testing screener which is awesome. I really like their community. It's unlike anything I've seen on other sites.
Two thumbs up on TradeKing.
Okay, let me start by saying their customer service is really bad. I was switching from ETrade a bit ago and was thinkng of going to Zecco because of the free trading. Well, it's not really free trading because I didn't have $25,000 and I think they even changed that policy to make it more costly within the last year or so. I think the site is clunky and the tools are inferior to other discount brokers. I also wanted to learn options trading but i didn't find their tools and resources very helpful. Ultimately, I decided to go to a different broker than Zecco. Not saying it isn't for you. I just wasn't for me at all.
I give them 3 stars. They are just fine and I used t have an account with them for years. I decided that I wanted to save some money by going to a cheaper broker because I learned to trade at ETrade and was ready for something more powerful. I wanted to trade Options and ETrade is not very good for options traders. So I switched. I'm saving money and pretty happy with the move. Etrade is just fine for the casual trader though.
