I give them 3 stars. They are just fine and I used t have an account with them for years. I decided that I wanted to save some money by going to a cheaper broker because I learned to trade at ETrade and was ready for something more powerful. I wanted to trade Options and ETrade is not very good for options traders. So I switched. I'm saving money and pretty happy with the move. Etrade is just fine for the casual trader though.

I used to have an account with etrade a few years back but stopped using it once I learned about the 40$ per quarter fee they had for all accounts. I was never aware of this fee until after I was charged it for the first time, and after that, I closed my account. For a broker that claims to have low commission rates, they run a distrustful business to have hidden fees for their paying customers. good riddance.
I'm not sure if they still have this fee anymore, but I'm a happily with another broker now(zecco) so it doesn't really matter.
